Just Oriental to Humpi ..

Sunday morning, got up by 9 15 AM .. and to decide upon whether to have breakfast or not, it became 10 45 AM.. Had some Wheat bread with Peanut butter .. Just when I thought, at least this weekend we are gonna have light lunch AK started with his research on restaurants and came up with a Korean cuisine this time.. Its Just-Oriental and we zeroed on in and by 1:40 PM we were off to Just-Oriental .. We dint knew the exact place but our landmark was Lotus Pond - nearby Banjara Hills ..

We got to reach Lotus pond without any issues and surprisingly we dint knew this place being in hyderabad for so long.. Pond was really good and it was full of Lotuses as it goes by its name.. The area was really Posh as it falls in MLA colony .. Ok now on the hunt to Just-Oriental ..we weren't able to find our Korean rest ..went onto search and called upon the number which we noted from the web before starting out .. but no one picked... But we dint get disappointed, as we got near Lotus pond we saw the Humpi Multi cuisine restaurant which was really inviting with its ambiance from outside .. OK without much argument our Plan B was to enter into HUMPI .. Comeon Lets get in ..

To describe on the ambiance, it looked like a chettinad house with lots of wooden pillars raised .. it was aesthetic .. Lotsa paintings .. In the wait area there was a pool table and a big swing on the other side .. We were well received .. They had options of Buffet and Ala - Carte .. We had a look at the Buffet and it looked good and it costed 234 Inclusive of all taxes/Service tax/VAT whatever u wanna add .. It looked OK to us and we decided to go for Buffet ..

Soups were served .. The Veg soup was very spicy and I couldn't have more than a spoon .. AK was OK with his NV soup .. Starters were also served .. Aloo 65 and crispy veg were the Veg starters and in NV it was some Chicken and Fish .. Aloo 65 was fantastic and Crispy veg was OK .. On the NV - AK did like the Chicken one but has some complaints on the Fish since it was cooked without removing the thorns .. After some 3 servings of starters we started off to pick out the main course ..

There were 4 types of salads .. out of which I should say none was outstanding ..they were passable .. There were 2 veg curries - One paneer and another one its a kind of mix veg .. then Schezwan veg noodles .. HOT roti's were served .. Curries were really good along with the roti's .. I found the noodles to taste nice but AK had some concerns as he felt it wasn't cooked properly .. AK was enjoyin his NV biriyani and I wasn't happy that there wasn't a Veg biriyani .:( ..but we had Jeera pulav .. I had it tasted with that mix veg curry and that was really tasty .. that was the best pulav I have ever had in my life .. I was almost stuffed so was AK .. then moved onto the Desserts ..

Dessert menu was well spread .. had around 7 varieties .. carrot halwa/rasmalai/jamun/some choc pudding/vanilla ice cream and two other sweets which i forgot its name .. and some fruit salad .. Tasted each one of them .. some of the sweets were good and I am a big fan of Jamun/Vanilla combi .. so was satisfied with the desserts ..

I guess we both liked the food and felt its worth the money .. We had one complaint on the food .. it wasn't served that HOT .. before leaving we just passed on our 2 cents to the barrer and left the place :) ..

We would go with 3 stars out of 5 for Humpi .. ***

Al D Best - Bharat

Today 15PP bid adieu's to Bharat who is shifting base to chase more challenges..
Below are the few highlights that belongs to BHARAT which we would cherish for a long time ..

- RDB/Godfather ( If his laptop is playing songs it will be of RDB then if he is watchin movie then it will be Godfather series )
- Started the concept of REPEAT in Cafe Blue Diamond
- Tomato Soup ( His tomato soup is better than Knorr's .. )
- Australia/Yes man ( Managed to pull AK to Australia ;) )
- Never uses Boss's helmet
- Chutneys Dinner and KBR Park walk @ 11PM
- Tamanna's Madhapur Fan club head
- Good Decision Maker
- Pakathan ga Sadhu but he is one guy who wud be the 1st to fight if something is wrong ..

- Balaji Rajasthan

In Short he is GAME for anything .. :)

V - 15PP will definitely miss him and wish a lot more success in his future en devours.

Today is a great day for India. 3 Oscar winners are Indians.(ahem.. South Indians :p)
1 for Sound Mixing it - Resul Pookutty(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resul_Pookutty) from Kerala and
2 Oscars for isai puyal, music suravali - our own RamaSubramonian(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RamaSubramonian) from Tirunelveli India. :D

Tops of 2008

R - aka Ram was sorely dissappointed on seeing the Top 10 songs of 2008 chosen by Sun TV. Their list had 'Taxi - Taxi" by Thalai(read ARR) as the third. First n Second spots went to "Nakamukku" and "Dindugallu Dindugallu" - both from Sun pictures :)
